Remote monitoring an management of storage tanks such as water oil or gas find wide applications in such areas as agriculture, game farms and other industrial storage facilities. The ability to control the tank levels remotely has been difficult and costly in the past and in many instances impossible as no wired solution was possible due to the remoteness of many tank facilities.

 

Tank

 

This system is used to control the water level of a reservoir or water tank being supplied water from a pump up to 3km away.
The transmitter, monitoring the water level in the reservoir via a float switch, transmits a START or STOP command to the receiver, controlling the pump, every 20 seconds based on the water level.

The relay on the receiver will remain active for as long as it receives the START command from the transmitter..
If no command is received the relay will open after a one minute timeout. The STOP command is also confirmed every 20 seconds.



The transmission and pause times are programmable in both on the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter batteries on the tanks can be recharged continually from a solar panel for those water systems out in the bush

" I was continually having problems with my water tanks 1 km away from the hotel, they used to be operated by timers, but as the water consumption at the hotel was different every day, sometimes there wasnt enough water or NO WATER! and other times the tanks were overflowing, in both cases I would have to drive down to the borehole each time to either turn the pumps on or off and they back again after 2 hours when they were full. This cost a fortune in time and money. Finally it got to be almost every day I had to go to the borehole and at any time I never knew how much water there was left in the tanks. Since Delmac came and fitted the tank automation system designed to keep the tanks 75% full using a radio transmitter at the tanks and a receiver at the pump, the tanks are always 75% full, I havent had to ever go near that borehole. I am very happy with the system and my pumping costs have fallen by half".
